AlterG Anti-gravity Treadmill

AlterG Anti-gravity Treadmill

AlterG is now available at Aim Sports Medicine.

The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ lifts the user to reduce their body weight and downward pressure, allowing them to engage in the full range of motion without the impact of gravity.  Like exercising on the moon, imagine if you could adjust your weight to 75, 50, or 25% of your body weight, reducing the impact on injured joints and strained soft tissues.

AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill - Aim Sports Medicine

Used in thousands of facilities globally, the AlterG treadmill has helped millions of people safely reach their goals and achieve better outcomes. AlterG® is a trusted developer of leading-edge rehab and training equipment that uses NASA Differential Air Pressure technology. Using the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill™, Aim patients are now able to modulate their physical therapy and recovery without pain, improving mobility and enhancing physical performance sooner1.

"We believe the use of AlterG for physical therapy treatment can offer greater benefit to our patients, moving them to a quicker recovery."

- Aim Sports Medicine

Using Differential Air Pressure (DAP), the AlterG equipment uses air as a lifting force to reduce the impact of gravity that normally occurs to the body when walking, running, or engaging in sports-related activity.  With adjustability in precise 1% increments, we can help you gradually support your own body weight without the risk of injury, which is also proven to allow normal movement without impeding natural gait mechanics1.

AlterG DAP technology has been shown to be:

  • Capable of accurate, precise, and consistently safe unweighting across a variety of body types and throughout dynamic aspects of the gait cycle.
  • Comfortable and safe for most individuals, including those with stable cardiac, vascular, and respiratory disorders.
  • Able to reduce ground reaction force (GRF) for walking and running in proportion to the amount of unweighting.
  • Effective in reducing pain in individuals whose lower extremity symptoms are related to full weight-bearing ambulation or exercise2.
